In the city centre. 5 minutes from the main shopping street, Patrick's Street - just north of the River under the Shandon Bells. Just look for the Goldy Fish! Yes, a light breakfast of tea / coffee & toast is included in the price. It is served from 7 to 9.30am every morning and is self service. No, the hostel is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is no lock out time during the day. Check out is at 10.30am. You can check in any time you like - all rooms are cleaned by 1pm. If you arrive earlier than 1 and we have a clean room ready, you can go to your room right away; otherwise you're welcome to leave your bags in the luggage room and the rest of the hostel is yours until the room is ready. Yes, all beds have clean sheets, duvets and pillows. Towels are provided in the private rooms only. We have a wide variety of rooms - Twins, Doubles, Singles, 4-Bedded Rooms and Dorms. Most are available in both standard and en suite (with bathroom) room types! All are bunk bedded - except the doubles. We would strongly advise you to make a booking in advance to guarantee your accommodation in Cork - especially at weekends and in high season. A credit card is required to hold your bed and guarantee your reservation, but you can pay by cash or card on arrival. For individual bookngs, we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. You must cancel your booking by 1pm on the day prior to arrival or the first nights accommodation will be charged. For group / agent cancellations, please contact us directly for details. In Kinlay House Cork we are very "green" or environmentally aware. Plastic, cardboard & paper are recycled. We are slowly changing all the light bulbs to long life environmentally friendly ones. We are trying to train the Staff also to conserve water. Staff & guests are encouraged to turn the lights off when not needed. Most showers & taps are fitted with push buttons to reduce water wastage. All the staff cycle & walk to work, by the way! In the past we did try to recycle glass also but unfortunately most backpackers did not co-operate in this as food etc was thrown into the glass recycling bin - but we will attempt this soon again.... A twin room has a set of bunk beds. The double room has one big double bed. No - we cater for people of all ages. A membership card is not required. We accept cash or credit card, including American Express as payment. Sorry, we no longer accept magic beans. There is on-street parking all around the hostel. Between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm Monday through Saturday a parking disc is required - a parking disc can be bought from any shop, is good for 2 hours, and costs €2. It is free to park everywhere in Cork all day on Sundays and bank holidays. If you're leaving your car in Cork for the day, you can often find discounted parking rates when you pre-book with Q-Park. Their Carrol's Quay garage is a five minute walk from the hostel. |
